Drivers 4 linux now please!

Very nice that HP put a page for aid to Linux, but continues selling their laptops with Windows and does not create drivers for distributions to which seems to give support.

I have a HP Pavilion Notebook dv6-1110ss, and the sound stinks, I got the sound working, but not very well, and sound via HDMI there is no way.

Need sound drivers

I also would like to see some support for Linux, especially for sound drivers. I have a dv7-2185dx, which is a nice machine, with HD sound, but the open source drivers do not work (ALSA does not work at all, OSS runs on one speaker). The sound on the HD equipped systems is very sophisticated, and it needs manufacturer's support. If HP will not write the linux sound drivers, then at least release all the technical specs to the community so someone else can write drivers that work.

Drivers 4 linux now please!

In my netbook HP Pavilion dv21010la doesn't work the wireless and the wire network break down every minute and I don't why, I have to restart service netwotking but a few minutes later the ethernet conection can be stable. I try to install the ATI driver from Ubuntu repository but doesn't work (I have Ubuntu Remix 9.04) every time that I do it the X system break down totally.

I agree with "diegstroyer", when will HP create drivers for GNU/Linux System or maybe support??.

Try going to Linux support forums - here are some

http://www.ubuntu.com/support

You can go to the website for your particular Linux distribution and request help.
Usually someone has already had the same problem and has been given a suggested solution.
When you ask for help use the exact specification (model number - etc...) in your search,
of the part that is not working correctly.
KEEP TRYING AND SEARCHING AND ASKING!

HP has to provide better support for Linux

What HP could and should do is offer a few models that are actually certified to run with major Linux distributions such as Ubuntu, Debian, and Redhat. It just isn't that hard.

There are machines that work very nicely with Linux, and HP needs to be offering some that are stated as such.

Entering a crap shoot of ever changing models that come with Windows pre-installed often leads to extreme disappointment. I notice that sometimes when there is obviously a hardware problem, HP service just reinstalls Windows thinking that will some how magically fix the problem. Let's get real. Can HP assemble a computer that works with Linux or not?

HP has to provide better support for Linux

I have to admit the HP website for Linux support isn't easy to find.

Please go here for the info you are requesting:

* Look for the certification link on the left side.
