Bug report : hpsmh_6.0.0-96_i386.deb
There is a bug in hpsmh_6.0.0-96_i386.deb:
In Debian, as well as in Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS, /etc/ld.so.conf is a file not a directory
The hpsmh deb creates a file called /etc/ld.so.conf/hpsmh.conf which is wrong. Instead, it should create the file /etc/ld.so.conf.d/hpsmh.conf
The result of installing this deb is that the original file (/etc/ld.so.conf) gets deleted.
The original author of the deb is Dann Frazier, but he no longer works for HP, so he suggested that I post this info here.
